Brief:
IATF 16949 Certification is the International Standard developed by IATF as the criteria of compliance for Quality Management System requirements for Automotive Supply Chain. This standard is based on ISO 9001 requirements and customer-specific requirements of the automotive sector. Description
International Automotive Task Force (IATF) is a group of Automotive Manufacturers and their respective National Automotive Industry Associations, formed to define, establish and maintain a system for the management of Quality System in the Automotive Supply Chain worldwide for cars, components, and parts.  IATF has created five Oversight offices located in France (IATF France), Germany (VDA-QMC), Italy (ANFIA), the United Kingdom (SMMT), and the United States of America (IAOB) to administer the IATF registration scheme.IATF 16949 certification ensures that the quality management system requirements of automotive production which includes design, development, production, fabrication, assembly, and installation, are effective and consistent throughout the automotive supply chain. Automotive core tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and MSA are some of the recommended tools for process analysis and control which assists in making the planned quality system robust and effective.
